Amid a period of unprecedented growth for the WNBA, the Toronto Tempo were introduced as the league’s newest expansion team. The visual identity was developed to capture the speed, rhythm, and global energy of the game—intentionally steering away from conventional Toronto or Canadian motifs.
The system is built around motion. Angular design elements create a sense of pace and direction, forming a consistent visual language that mirrors the speed of basketball itself. From merchandise to digital platforms, every touchpoint reinforces the name and ethos of the team—establishing a brand that feels active, modern, and globally minded. Canada’s perspective played a key role in shaping our design, which is why we collaborated with Canadian designers Aidan Boudreau, Melissa Zeta, Drew Hall, and Rosa Nozari.
