Cleveland Cavaliers City Edition 23—24

For the 2023–2024 City Edition uniforms, the Cleveland Cavaliers drew inspiration from one of the city’s most iconic cultural landmarks—the Playhouse Square Theatre District. As the second-largest theater district in the United States, the design aimed to spotlight this local legacy on a national stage.

The identity system was built from the district’s signature deep reds and ornate architectural detailing, which translated naturally into the City Edition format. On the uniform, these elements were applied through intricate trim work, an homage to theater curtains, and a series of subtle easter eggs referencing Cleveland and its performing arts history. The result was a design that connected sport to stage—celebrating the cultural fabric of the city.
